# Play Sic Bo

Sic Bo is an ancient Chinese dice game played on a large table. Hugely popular in Asian culture, this exciting game is winning new players in casinos around the world.

Sic Bo is a very simple dice game of pure luck that moves quickly. There is no strategy or technique involved. All you need to do is place your bet and wait for the dice to roll. If the result of the roll matches your bet you win.

Nowadays there are many versions available in online and land-based casinos, but regardless of the version, the simplicity of Sic Bo remains the same. The action always revolves around the outcome of the 3 dice. What does vary however, are the betting and side bet options.

Available Bets in Sic Bo

There are many different types of bets you can place when you play Sic Bo, among them:

• Total

The easiest bet in Sic Bo is the three dice total bet. This can range from 4 to 17 (3 and 18 are covered by the Triple 1 and Triple 6 bets).

The payouts on each of these bets are different, based on the probability of each score occurring.

For example, a total of 4 pays 60 to 1, while a total of 10 or 11 pays 6 to 1.

• Big and Small

You can bet on the total of the three dice as either Small (i.e. between 4 and 10) or Big (between 11 and 17).

The Small/Big bet pays 1 to 1.

An important rule to keep in mind is that both Big and Small lose if any triples appear, which explains why a total of 3 and 18 is not included in these bets.

• Combination

A Combination bet is a bet on any two specific numbers that appear on all three dice. For example, you could bet on a Combination of 4 and 6, which would win if all three dice show 3, 4, 6.

The payout for a combination bet is 6 to 1, regardless of which combination you bet on. In this way, it differs from the Total bet, which pays out different amounts depending on the specific total.

The combination bet can be considered a bet with a medium risk.

• Single

A Simple bet is a bet on a single specific number that will come up on any of the three dice.

The payout of a Simple bet depends on how many occurrences of the chosen number appear on all three dice.

If the chosen number appears on one die, you are paid 1 to 1. If the number appears on two dice, you get paid 2 to 1. If it appears on all three dice, you get paid 12 to 1.

• Double

A Double is a bet where a specific number will appear on two dice. For example, a Double bet on 2 would win if all three dice show 2, 6, 2.

The payout for this bet is 10 to 1.

• Triple

The Triple bet is a bet that all three dice will show a specific number.

You can bet on any specific triple from 1 to 6 and also bet that any triple (meaning you don’t specify the number) will occur.

The payout on any triple is 30 to 1, however the payout on a specific triple is 180 to 1, making it the biggest payout on the board. It’s a fantastic return if it comes up, but the odds of it not happening are 216 to 1.

Sic Bo Strategy

Although Sic Bo is a game of chance, players can bet based on the odds of each available bet, therefore giving them a certain advantage. Betting on the small, big, even or odd bets gives you the highest probability of winning and therefore these are the safest bets when playing Sic Bo.
